DECODE 2026: Workshop on the Digital Product Passport in Madrid

The DECODE Workshop returns for its second edition, co-located with CNSM 2026 near Madrid. The focus: the digital foundations of the circular economy, with the Digital Product Passport (DPP) at its core. PACE-DPP is a technical co-sponsor, and two organizing chairs come from its consortium: project lead Martin Benedikt (Virtual Vehicle Research GmbH) and consortium partner Markus Tauber (Research Studios Austria FG). They are joined by Pal Varga (Budapest University of Technology and Economics) as third organizing chair.

Topics

DECODE invites papers on Digital Product Passport data services, distributed architectures, data spaces and interoperability, federated data governance, and smart supply chains. Also welcome: traceability and lifecycle tracking, secure data exchange with self-sovereign identities, DPP identity management, and the role of data intermediaries.

Call for Papers

  • Long regular papers: up to 6 pages
  • Short position papers: up to 4 pages (incl. references)
  • Format: IEEE 2-column conference style

Deadlines:

  • Submission: 14 August 2026
  • Notification: 11 September 2026
  • Camera-ready: 18 September 2026
